Three arrested in Mayville drug operation

MAYVILLE — Three people are facing drug charges after a warrant check in the village on Thursday.

Chautauqua County deputies report that while checking on a residence, they observed a vehicle pulling into the driveway around 1 p.m on Blanchard Street. The vehicle was operated by Kristen Nelson, 38, of Jamestown. The vehicles passenger, identified as Sarah E Johnson, 40, of Jamestown, was observed placing items behind a youth who was sitting within the vehicle.

Deputies observed a large methamphetamine pipe sticking out of a diaper bag, which was between two youths. Deputies also observed a bag of marijuana and a marijuana pipe. Those items, deputies allege, were located directly next to a youth.

A subsequent search of the vehicle, assisted by Sheriff’s K9, revealed a large sum of cash, three scales, plastic bag packaging material, Clonazepam pill, multiple containers of methamphetamine, and multiple hypodermic needles.

Nelson, Johnson and passenger Richard Philbrick, 33, of Jamestown, were all charged and Child Protective Services was contacted for the two youths located within the vehicle. Nelson was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and operation with a back seat passenger less than four years old without a child seat. She was held on $2,500 bail.

Johnson was charged with three counts of seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, possessing a hypodermic instrument, and criminally using drug paraphernalia second. She was remanded on $2,500 bail.

Philbrick was charged with first-degree felony criminally using drug paraphernalia, two counts of seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance, and criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument. Due to his parole status he was held without bail.
