JAMESTOWN — A Jamestown man identified as 59-year-old Kent Norgren died as the result of a vehicle-pedestrian crash Monday morning.

Jamestown police and firefighters were called shortly before 6 a.m. to Prendergast Avenue, between East Fifth and East Sixth streets, for the crash involving an SUV. Investigators remained on scene for several hours while the road was closed to traffic.

After the crash, Norgren was transported to UPMC Chautauqua and later UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa., but was pronounced dead.

Jamestown Police Capt. Robert Samuelson confirmed earlier Monday that police were still investigating the incident.

He said the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the city.

No charges have been filed against the driver.
