A memorial service for Jefrena C. Brown, the 15-year-old girl who died in a stabbing incident, will take place on Wednesday.

According to a notice on Page A2 from the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home, Jefrena died on May 16 in Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo. The service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Dunkirk American Legion Post 62.

She was a freshman at Dunkirk High School and was involved in an altercation on May 15 around 4 p.m. on Lincoln Avenue with a woman who is now believed to be in her 20s.

A crowd of nearly 50 people watched as the incident took place and Dunkirk police are continuing their investigation into the incident. No arrests have been made.
