A veteran who walked all the streets of four villages has raised $4,200 for the Chautauqua County Veterans Endowment Fund.

In April, Jon Espersen started walking all the streets of Fredonia to raise money for the Veterans Association. He ended up walking the streets of two more villages to raise more money, including Brocton, Mayville, and Westfield.

“Go big or go home,” Espersen said when he first started the fundraiser. More than 100 people donated to the fundraiser, which ended up raising a total of $4,200 to go to the Chautauqua County Veterans Endowment Fund.

“A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in any way,” Espersen said. “Your donations mean so much to the recipients and will help so many.”

Sons of the American Legion got Espersen’s fundraiser to go over the $4,000 mark. Espersen explained that if people still want to give donations, they will be gladly accepted and immediately turned over to the Endowment Fund.
