SILVER CREEK — The ball field on Ward Avenue in Silver Creek have seen some improvements.

At Monday’s Silver Creek Village Board meeting, Caroline Mullen, president of the Hanover Little League, came to report some good news about the ball field.

The improvements, which Mullen described as “substantial,” included resurfacing the ball field, the addition of new siding to all of the buildings, and a new flower box behind the concession stand that will be taken care of by the Hanover and Silver Creek Garden Club, who they have now partnered with.

“We recognize that the Ward Avenue stretch is just a bunch of beautiful homes and we felt that the field could use some rejuvenation to bring it back to life,” she said. “We’re very happy with the improvements that have been done up there. There are still a few things that we need to finish up but we’ve been working hard to make it look beautiful up there.”

The board thanked Mullen and agreed that it does look beautiful.

“I want to thank Caroline for all the work they did up at the ball field,” Trustee Marv Cummings said. “I know a lot of the work those volunteers do up there goes unnoticed, but I know exactly how much work you guys do and I really appreciate it.”
