It’s the most colorful time of the year.

As crisp autumn temperatures continue throughout Western New York, most of the foliage is at peak or past peak levels from Niagara Falls-Buffalo to Allegany County, according to the I Love NY weekly report.

“In the Chautauqua-Allegheny region, Chautauqua County spotters at Chautauqua Institution expect peak foliage (last) weekend, with 65% change and a mix of fall shades, the report noted.

Foliage is reported to be past-peak in Buffalo and the surrounding areas of Erie County.

“Foliage change is complete in the Springville and Boston areas of the county, but there are still be some muted red and orange leaves,” the state report notes. “In Wyoming County, reports from Warsaw predict nearly complete color change and past-peak foliage but note that many trees are bare.”

For the remainder of New York, the report adds this: “Vibrant peak foliage (is) emerging in the middle and lower Hudson Valley toward New York City and Long Island, as well as into many areas of the Finger Lakes and Greater Niagara region, according to volunteer observers.”
