Support goes to dogs

Girl Scout Troop 20237 recently celebrated the birthday of their founder, Juliette Gordon Low, at Point Gratiot in Dunkirk. The troop invited Denise Zentz, Dunkirk dog control officer, and volunteers from the Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue to the meeting where they learned about the job of dog control officer and what the NCCR does for the community. The volunteers also brought Milo, a dog from the rescue. The troop also continued the tradition started by Juliette Low to “do a good turn daily.” They brought donations of paper towels, bleach, cleaners, dog food and blankets for the dogs at the rescue. After learning some fun facts about Juliette Low, the girls enjoyed hot chocolate and cupcakes.
