Sinclairville man killed in motorcycle crash

SINCLAIRVILLE — A 45-year-old Sinclairville man was killed Friday afternoon in a motorcycle crash in the town of Charlotte.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies, along with firefighters from Sinclairville and Gerry, responded around 2 p.m. to Rood Road. An investigation found that a southbound motorcycle, being operated by Edward A. McAlister, went off the road and crashed.

“Deputies and EMS rendered medical aid to Edward McAlister, but due to the extent of McAlister’s injuries, he was pronounced deceased on scene,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

An investigation into the crash remains ongoing, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Also assisting at the scene Friday was the county coroner’s office, Chautauqua County Emergency Services and county EMS.

The area near Rood Road was briefly closed to traffic.
