Arbutus M. Ortolano, 85, of Fredonia, NY passed away Wednesday December 10, 2014 at Brooks Hospital in Dunkirk, NY.

She was born November 28, 1929 in Conewango, NY, the daughter of the late Garold and Doris (Mett) Brown.

She was employed for many years as a Therapy Aide at JN Adam. She was a member of St. Joseph’s RC Church in Gowanda, NY and its Altar and Rosary Society and also the Collins Home Bureau.

Surviving are 2 brothers Clayton (Barb) Brown of Randolph, NY and Leone (Janet) Brown of Bloomfield, KY and 6 sisters Roberta Barber of Gerry, NY, Beatrice (Donald) Swanson of Sarasota, FL, Nita (Jack) Silliman of Cassadaga, NY, Arminta (Donald) Taylor of Washington State, Althea (Walter) Herrington of Perrysburg, NY and Selva (Randall) Thompson of Ohio; a brother-in-law, Alfred Green of Georgia; a sister-in-law, Carol Brown Randolph, NY; 27 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Harlow Brown; and 2 sisters, Verlene Green and Oleta Brown.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today at 1:30 p.m. from St. Joseph’s RC Church in Gowanda, NY.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Gowanda, NY.
