Rafael N. Fuentes

Rafael N. Fuentes, 85, formerly of Dunkirk, N.Y., died Saturday, June 20, 2015 at the Gowanda Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility. One of 13 children born to the late Francisco and Mercedes Nieves Fuentes, Rafael was born November 28, 1929 in Santusa, Puerto Rico. Described as a great storyteller by his family, he was regarded as an enthusiastic and spirited conversationalist. Rafael was a retiree of Dunkirk Radiator and an active member of the Pentecostal Church in Dunkirk.

He is survived by his wife, Elisa Matias Fuentes; 4 children, Rafael M. Fuentes (Diane) of Rochester, N.Y., Wilfredo M. Fuentes (Kathy) of Forestville, N.Y., Esteban M. Fuentes of California and Magdalena Dye (Charles) of Dunkirk, N.Y. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.
