Cecil R. Snyder Jr.

Cecil R. Snyder Jr., 73, of Cherry Creek, NY, entered to rest July 24, 2017.

He was born in Gowanda, NY June 2, 1944 to the late Cecil R. and Dessa E. Snyder Sr.

In his early years, Cecil worked for R. & L. Smith trucking as a driver, Rouckh Motors as a mechanic and Corkwell Ford as a mechanic, all in South Dayton, NY. He retired from Newport News Shipyard Norfolk, VA as a Nuclear Quality Control Inspector, Hampton VA Police Department as a police officer and Waynesboro Correctional Facility as a corrections officer. Cecil was a jack of trades.

Loving husband to Bonita Jayne; cherished father to Darrell Lee (Debbie), Daniel Roy (Tracy), Darren Wright and Dawn Marie; stepfather to Shelly R. (Doug) Hill, Samara R. (Russell) Bartholomew; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brother to David (Judy) and Dale (Donna) Snyder. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cecil was predeceased by his former wife, Bonita Jean, and a sister, Donna Lee Snyder Milliman.

Relatives and fiends may visit DiStasio-Hills Funeral Chapel, 478 Route 83 at Balcom Corners, South Dayton, Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. with a memorial service to immediately follow.

Inurnment will be in Treat Memorial Cemetery, Leon, NY.
