Jane Alice Penhollow Potter Greene

Jane Alice Penhollow Potter Greene, 90 of Freedom, PA, formerly of Glens Falls, Cassadaga and Bradenton, FL, passed away peacefully, with family by her side, August 15, 2017.

Born April 10, 1927 in the Town of Charlotte, a daughter of the late Delbert and Ida Harper Penhollow.

Jane and her late husband Rodney, owned and operated the Bowl Again bowling lanes in Cassadaga for several years until the building burned down in 1978. She was also employed by FHA and the Cassadaga Greenhouse for a short time.

Jane formerly attended the Fredonia Methodist Church and the Cassadaga Community Baptist Church. She was a former member of the Cassadaga Country Club, Cassadaga Garden Club, Cassadaga Volunteer Fireman’s Auxiliary, was a former Cub Scout Den Mother, Brownie and Girl Scout Leader Jane was an avid gardener and loved to work her gardens with her children and grandchildren, loved to read, was an ABC Certified Bowling Instructor and was proud to have helped with the war effort, working with her family as aircraft spotters during WWII.

Wife of the late Rodney Potter, Sr. who she married Jan. 1947 and died Dec. 1977 and Robert Greene who she married Dec. 1978 and died Jan. 2010; mother of, Linda (Nick) Turzillo of Freedom, PA, Mark (Penny) Potter of Guyton, GA and Rodney (Jana) Potter Jr., of Lily Dale; step mother of, Lisa Greene Murphy, Robert and Kenneth Greene and the late Linda Greene Fish, Patty Greene Thompson and Julie Greene Mleczko; sister of, Ann (late Donald) Jordan, Sue (late Marvin) Zahm and Bertha (late William) Fredrickson. Also survived by grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jane will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services 11 a.m. Monday in Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial in Charlotte Center Cemetery.
