Howard D. Parish

He was born August 9, 1950 in Jamestown, NY the son of the late Howard F. (Mary) Parish and the late Ernestine (Maynard) Bentham.

On November 22, 1969 in Niagara Falls, NY he married the former Candice L. Smith who survives.

Mr. Parish worked for the NYSDOT as a Motor Carrier Inspector for 32 years until his retirement, he also worked as a mechanic.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s RC Church in Gowanda, a 4th Degree Member of the MSGR David Gernatt KOC Council and was an exempt member of the Collins Fire Deptartment.

Besides his loving wife of 48 years he is survived by a son H. Michael (Barbara) Parish of West Valley, NY and 3 daughters Connie (Jason) Nephew of Baldwinsville, NY, Gail (Timm Merrill) Parish of Collins, NY and Karen (Aaron) Markham of Gowanda, NY and 9 grandchildren Erin, Magdalena and Victoria Parish, Marc Tiller, Brett and Shannon Nephew, Caleb, Cameron and Christian Merrill. Also surviving is a brother Ernest (Keith Guldberg) Parish of Savannah, GA and 2 sisters Faith (Billy Goodrich) Parish of Denmark, SC and Annette (John) White of Belfast, NY and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc. 105 East Main Street in Gowanda, NY on Thursday March 1, 2018 from 24 p.m. and 79 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Friday March 2, 2018 at 11 a.m. from St. Joseph’s RC Church in Gowanda, NY.

Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
