Karen A. Lamoreaux

Karen A. Lamoreaux, 63, of Dunkirk, died unexpectedly, Wednesday morning, February 7, 2018, At home.

She was born December 16, 1954, in Dunkirk, daughter of Casimir and Irene (Zebrasky) Kuziora of Dunkirk.

A retired employee of Dunkirk Public Schools, where she worked as Head Cook at the high School. Memberships include Dunkirk Moose Lodge No. 89.

Karen loved to spend time with her grandchildren, volunteer at many of the sporting events at the school, and also bake the most beautiful cakes for her nieces, nephews and extended family.

Surviving in addition to her parents are a son, Christian Lamoreaux of Dunkirk; daughter, Michelle Lamoreaux of Mesa, AZ; brother, Michael (Mary Lilly PhD) Kuziora PhD of Bethesda, MD; sister, Kristine (Paul MD) Vanek of Mentor, OH; grandchildren, Anthony, Christian Jr., and Elizabeth Lamoreaux; nephew Michael Kuziora; nieces Sarah Kuziora, Megan, Erin and Elizabeth Vanek.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leland D. Lamoreaux, who died July 2, 2016.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call today from 3-6 p.m. at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk, where funeral services will be follow at 6 p.m., with Rev. Dennis Riter officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to RPCI, Carlton and Elm Streets, Buffalo, NY or Lake Shore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut St. in Dunkirk.
