With the Lord as her guiding light and her husband and children by her side, Laurie M. (Motto) Faso, 54, of Fredonia, NY died on March 21, 2018 peacefully at home.

She was born in Dunkirk, NY on April 30, 1963, the daughter of Gerald and Janice (Keith) Motto. She graduated from Dunkirk High School and earned her BS in accounting from SUNY Fredonia. She worked for many years at A. Sam Farms, the Fredonia Central School District for 22 years, and the University of Buffalo.

Her husband, Anthony D. Faso, whom she married on August 15, 1998, survives her. She is also survived by her daughters, Brynn (Brian) Gray and Kara Faso, both of West Palm Beach Florida, and Nicole Faso of Stratford CT. Laurie was the proud grandmother of Natalie, Braxton, and Avery.

She is further survived by her parents Gerald and Janice Motto (Keith); and siblings Janine Motto of Lancaster, NY, Christopher (Sherry) Motto of Noblesville Indiana, Glenn (Samantha) Motto of Knox NY, and Sharon (Brian) Ardillo of Dunkirk, NY; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Laurie was a member of the Fredonia Methodist Church where she served on many committees, taught Sunday school and served as a youth group leader. Laurie was a member of the Fredonia Fire Department Ladies Auxilary and the Southwestern Association of Volunteer Fireman Auxiliary and the ladies auxiliary of the Fireman’s Association of the state of New York.

Laurie was a member of the Fredonia Beaver Club’s Ladies Auxiliary and a former Dunkirk Moose Lodge auxiliary member.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 2 to 7 p.m. at the R. Mackowiack Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty St. in Dunkirk.

Funeral services will be held at the Fredonia First United Methodist Church on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, Laurie has requested that memorials be made to the Fredonia First United Methodist Church.
