Linda L. Howard

SOUTH DAYTON — Linda L. Howard, of Cottage Road, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018 at the Buffalo General Hospital surrounded by her family. Linda was 78 years old.

Linda was born in Gowanda on August 3, 1939 the daughter of Arthur L. and Ruth M. (Linsler) Clees.

As a secretary, Linda worked for various places in the area; she retired as a keyboard specialist at Fredonia State College. She had over 20 years of Service for New York state. Linda also worked at the Great Valley Residential Center, Kysor and Della Posta Law Office in Gowanda and for the Late Dr. Leonard Constantine, doctor’s office also of Gowanda to name a few.

Linda is survived by her children: Christopher (Lillian) Howard of Cherry Creek, Wanda (Kevin) Koch of Gowanda and Jennifer (Donald Blood) Howard of Perrysburg. Linda’s granddaughters: Shannon Chmielewski and Shawna Koch and her two Great grandsons Mayson and Marcus also survive. Linda is also survived by a brother Stuart Clees of Hamburg and 2 sisters, Joana (late Norman) VanWey of Gowanda and Barbara (Dean) Richmond of Greencastle, Indiana. Linda’s nieces and nephews include Michael and Darrin VanWey, Tracey Goad, Dean Richmond Brandy Richmond and Kelly Critopn. Several great nieces and nephews also survive. Besides her parents Linda was preceded in death by her son Jimmy Howard who passed away August 20, 1995.

Linda was a member of the NRA. In her younger years, she enjoyed horses and horseback riding. Linda spent many hours riding on the horse trails that used to be a part of the area.

Friends may call Monday at the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME, 44 Center St., Gowanda from 2-4. and 6-8 p.m., where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Interment will be in the Cottage Cemetery, where Linda will be laid to rest next to her son Jimmy.
