Teresa (Ferraro) Donisi

Teresa (Ferraro) Donisi, 81, of Dunkirk, adored mother, Nonna, and Great Nonna died peacefully at her home on March 26, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Casa Rosa, Italy on November 12th, 1936.

Teresa and her husband of 58 years, Paolo, met early in life. At 12 years old, Teresa knew Paolo was her soul mate. After dating for 10 years, they married on October 15th, 1958. Together, they embarked on life’s journey.

Early in this journey, Teresa worked for an electric company in Italy. When she wasn’t working she took care of her husband Paolo and children. Her and Paolo loved to go dance the night away.

In June 1971, at 34 years, Teresa and Paolo moved their family to the United States to provide a better life for them. Teresa worked at American cleaners for many years and made lifelong friends there.

Family was of upmost importance to Teresa. She loved family gatherings and watching the grandchildren grow up, going to all their sports games, plays, musicals, and accomplishments.

She loved to cook and bake along with sharing it with others. She loved playing Italian cards with her family and friends.

She is survived by her loving children: Maria (Antonio) Delle Rose, of Fort Erie, Canada; Silvana (Robert) Bajdas, of Fredonia, NY; Raffaele (Suellen) Donisi of Hamburg, NY; Tiziana (Joseph) Price, of Dunkirk, NY; Anna Donisi (Lynn Jose) of Dunkirk NY.

She was a loving Nonna to Gina, Michael, and Luke Delle Rose; Robert and Alicia Bajdas; Paolo, Antonio, Eric and Teresa Donisi; Justin, Katie, and Julia Price; and Isabella, Cecelia, and Kassidy Donisi.

Teresa was also a great Nonna to Maddyson, Alexys, and Emelya Donisi; Carson and Lila Ash; and William Henry Sipprell IV.

She is survived by her sister Giaconda Pucciarelli, of Dunkirk, NY; and her sisters-in-law Immaculata Onelli and Yolanda Donisi, both of Italy and many nieces and nephews.

Teresa was predeceased by her husband Paolo, and her father and mother Enrico and Anna (Fortunato) Ferraro. She was also predeceased by one sister, Antoniette and one brother, Antonio, both from Italy; her granddaughter, Stefanie Teresa Price; brothers- in-law Fortunato Pucciarelli of Dunkirk, NY and Raffaelo Donisi of Italy.

Funeral services will be held Monday April 2, 2018 at 9:15 a.m. from McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Visiting hours will be Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in the Assumption Mausoleum of St. Mary’s Cemetery.
