Marvin E. Morse

Marvin E. Morse passed away at home surrounded by the love of his family on May 4, 2018. Marv was a lifelong resident of Fredonia, N.Y. He spent 62 years married to his high school sweetheart, Diane, who predeceased him in June 2010.Marvin was born in Sheridan, N.Y. on November 18, 1928 to the late Earl and Behula Morse. He is survived by his sisters June (Henry) Waldaff of Dunkirk, N.Y. and Carolyn Ferrugia of Buffalo, N.Y. Besides his wife Diane, Marvin is predeceased by a sister Bertha Eddy, a brother Bob Shelly, and infant twin sisters. He was “Dad” to five children: Jack (Barb) Morse of Ithaca, N.Y., Ron Morse, Polly (David) Gambino of Fredonia, Sue (Mike) Lisi of Fredonia and Don (Donna) Morse of Buffalo. He was “Grandpa” to Stacey, Heather, Chris, Brett, Marcy, Stephanie, DJ, Brenden, Matt, Lauren, Ben and Andrew. “Great Grandpa” to Brian, Ginny, Sammy, Maddy, Trin, Nate, Brayden, Scarlett, Thea, Bella, Dominic, Ella and Addison.Marv was self-employed running his gravel business for over 45 years. One customer commented, “I think he moved every inch of dirt in Dunkirk-Fredonia at least once.” He was a lov-ing husband, father, and family man. People knew him as a man who never looked his age and spoke his mind. His dedication to his family was evident as he took amazing care of his wife who battled cancer for 21 years. He had a lawn that was better kept than most golf courses, and had a love for animals, especially his two horses: Hunter and Barbie. Being a homebody, he enjoyed his visits watching grandchildren and great grandchildren swim, paddleboat, 4-wheel and snowmobile. He took great pride in growing giant pumpkins for his grandchildren for the annual pumpkin party. His past member-ships include snowmobile clubs, mounted police, supper club and a volunteer with the Fredonia Fire Dept.Memorial donation in Marv’s memory can be made to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, Elm &
