Norman W. Cordt

Norman W. Cordt, 77, formerly of Brocton and Ripley, New York passed away February 22, 2018 after a brief illness in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born in Dunkirk, New York on July 18, 1940 to the late William H Cordt and Allene R. Cordt Benjamin. Norm was raised in Brocton, and graduated from Brocton Central School. He attended The University of Rochester and upon graduation in 1962, began his teaching career in Mathematics retiring after 33 years of service from the Ripley Central School District. Several former students and school faculty have remained in contact since his retirement.Norm enjoyed playing and watching a variety of sports. His greatest love was golf where he participated in and won a number of tournaments. He was a member of the Lakeview Country Club where he was awarded numerous trophies

and plaques. Norm was also an avid Coin and Casi-no Chip collector.He was also a member of the Mountain View Presbyterian Church in Las Vegas. He is survived by his long time partner Jeanne Wolcott of Las Vegas. Her sons, James (Leslie) Wolcott and their daughter Raegan and her other son Jay Wolcott, all of North Carolina. Norm is also survived by many cousins and nephews throughout the country. In addition to his parents, Norm was preceded in death by his wife Ruthie Ryckman Cordt, his stepfather Charles Benjamin and brother Howard “Howie” Benjamin. Arrangements are with the Morse Funeral Home, 51 Highland Ave. Brocton, New York. Friends are invited to call at the Funeral Home on Saturday June 16, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a Memorial
