Ross J. Conti

Ross J. Conti, of Fredonia, N.Y., went to be with our Lord on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at the age of 91. He was born March 13, 1927 to Ross and Louise (LaDuca) Conti in Laona, N.Y.Ross attended Laona Grade School, Fredonia High School, and Dunkirk School 10 Industrial High School. In 1944 Ross en-listed in the U.S. Navy. He served as a Navy

Seabee, training in military heavy equipment landings and maintenance. He was stationed in Subic Bay, Philippines. His military career spanned over 40 years, serving as a Chief Tender in the U.S. Navy Reserves. Throughout hismilitary life he was honored to receive several medals and awards. Ross retired from Niagara Mohawk Steam Station after 40 years of employment. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Church, where he faithfully attended and took part in many of the Church activities. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Acquavia Post, and the Moose, Elks, Eagles and Beaver Clubs. Ross was married to Geraldine (Privateer) Conti, who passed away in 1975. He is survived by their children: Denise (Larry) Altman and Michelle (Gregory) Raggi; grandchildren: Chris, Brian, Andrea, Greg Jr., and Sara; great-grandchildren: Madigan, Hannah, Kylee, Mason, Noah, Gia, Catrina, Hunter, Isabella, and Stella. Ross is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Elaine Sandra (Peters) and stepchildren: Kelly Przybycien, Jennifer (David) Boyda, and Frank Przybycien Jr.; step- grandchildren: Elizabeth, Rebecca, Katie, Meghan, Cory, Nichole, Jessica, Ashlee and Alaina; step-great-grandchildren: Kasmier, Elliott, Norah, Devin and Dylan.Also surviving: his sister, Annette M. DeCosta and brother, Sam (Patricia) Conti; brother-in-law Mark (Debbie) Peters and several nephews and nieces.Ross was preceded in death by: his brothers and sister in-laws; Dr. Louis and Marian Conti, John and Hazel Conti; His sisters and brother in-laws; Nina and Carl Cash, Martha and Jack Smith, Dorothy and Angelo Bova; brother- in-laws Vincent DeCosta, and nephew Christopher Conti. An extended heartfelt thank you to his devoted caregivers (Kelly, Steve, Cindy, Jen, Louise, Sam, and Dory) and the loving efforts of all his nephews and nieces near and far. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Church, 1032 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, N.Y., Friday at 11 a.m. (Please assemble at Church.)
