Annajean Martin

She was born August 25, 1939 in Gowanda,NY the daughter of the late Robert and Esther (Shoemaker) Whalen.

On September 5,1959, she married James Martin who survives.

Mrs. Martin worked as a store clerk at Lisner’s Cleaner’s, Hogles and Gowanda Pharmacy. She was a member of the Gowanda Moose.

Besides her loving husband she is survived by a son Robert James (Carmen) Martin of Gowanda,NY and Rebecca Jeanne Walters of Surfside Beach, SC and four grandchildren Melinda, Nicholas, Desiree and Dakota and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers Arthur (Shirley) Whalen, Paul(Peggy) Whalen, Daniel (Shar) Whalen, James Whalen, Andrew Whalen and sisters Joan Gilbert, Adeline Carlson-Fuller, Terry (Gary) Rogers, Rosemary Bauer, Dorothy (Wade) Vosburg and Kathleen (Dave) Winchell and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers Robert and John Whalen and three sisters Patricia Allshouse, Nancy Green and Cindy Vogtli.

Friends may call at Mentley Funeral Home Inc. 105 East Main Street in Gowanda, NY on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 4-6 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. from the funeral home.

Burial will be in Jolls Cemetery In Perrysburg, NY.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
