Little Valley — Robert M. Deet Sr., 79, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the Aboslut Care of Salamanca. He was born on July 2, 1939 in Collins, NY, son of the late William and Helen (Luce) Deet.On July 24, 1971 in Ellicottville, he married the former Mary Raecher, whom he met while square dancing at the former Rock City Hotel in Little Valley. Mr. Deet’s wife of 47 years survives.He was a US Marines Veteran and was employed as a developmental aide at JN Adam’s in Perrysburg, NY for 30 years until his retirement. Mr. Deet was a “Mr.Fix-It”, seemingly able to fix anything and was an ex-pert handyman, particularly on older electronics. He was a great woodworker utilizing that skill to create their outdoor Christmas decorations, which he and his wife, Mary, grew well known for. Mr. Deet was also a member of the Little Valley United Methodist Church.Besides his loving wife, Mr. Deet is survived by two sons; Robert M. (Roberta) Deet Jr., of San Jose, IL, and Raymond (Hazel) Deet of Silver Creek, NY. Also surviving are two daughters; Marilou (Keith) Frederickson of Forestville, NY and Darlene Espersen of Silver Creek, NY. Mr. Deet is also survived by a brother, William (Donna) Deet of Westfield, NY and a sister, Jeanie Press of Forestville, NY as well as 9 grandchildren; John, Chris-tine, Kelly, David, Christina, Joshua, Ryan, Tyler, and Karli and 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Besides his parents, Mr. Deet is predeceased by a brother-in-law Frank Press.Friends may call on Mon-day, August 27, 2018 from 12 PM Noon to 3 PM at Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 411 Rock City St. in Little Valley, NY. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home immediately following the hours at 3 PM. Burial will be in Little Valley Rural Cemetery.Memorials may be made to the Little Valley Ambulance Service.
