Kathy Jo Tubbs passed into everlasting peace while in Hospice Care in Florida on Friday October 5, 2018; completing a courageous struggle with multiple serious health issues, She was 68. Kathy was born May 2, 1950 the daughter of the late Gerald P. Tubbs and Vera (Munson) Tubbs formerly of Portland, N.Y.
Kathy graduated from Brocton Central School in 1968, earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1972 and in 1978 a Master of Science in Education at SUNY Fredonia.
Kathy taught elementary school children, and art but her main career was with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) at various U.S. locations primarily focused upon HIV/AIDS programs. She also lectured physician groups and wrote government medical grants.
Kathy was an avid flower gardener, loved sculpturing, crafts and was a skilled painter. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Stars and active in her church.
Kathy is survived by her brother Terry (Suzanne) Tubbs, sister Wendy (Keith) Weary. Nephews, Jasen (Jenifer) Tubbs, Shawn (Sarah) Tubbs and Dillon Weary, her great niece and nephew Kaylee and Joseph Tubbs, her Aunt Marilyn and Uncle Alan Raun and numerous cousins.
Family and friends will miss Kathy and fondly remember the good times.
