Marion H. Matson

Marion H. Matson, 95, of Delaware, Ohio, formerly of Dunkirk, New York passed away peacefully Saturday evening, September 22, 2018 at the Ohio Living Sarah Moore Home in Delaware, OH. Born and raised on a dairy farm to the late Chester M. Harding Jr. and Hattie (Bates) Harding. Marion developed a love for birds, gardening and the outdoors. Marion worked many years as a supervisor at Bell Telephone where she touched many lives. Marion was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Dunkirk, NY and a longtime volunteer for the Salvation Army. She had an adventurous spirit and traveled around the world. It was during these travels she met her husband Jim. Left to cherish her memory are her nieces and nephew, Jill (Jim) Hoovler of Delaware, OH; Janice Gregg of Cleveland, OH; and Thomas (Karen) Harding of Corvallis, Oregon, and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Marion was also preceded in death by her husband James R. Matson and her siblings Herschel Harding, Marion J. Harding and Chester M. Harding. Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Willowbrook Cemetery in Dunkirk, New York.
