Rose A. Ricotta

Rose A. Ricotta, 74, a resident of Gowanda Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, formerly of Dunkirk, died Sunday morning (February 3, 2019) at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo. She was born October 9, 1944 in Dunkirk to the late Alfred and Rose (Pagano) Ricotta. Rose graduated from Dunkirk High School with the Class of 1962 and earned a bachelor’s degree from Buffalo State College.She began her working career as a home economics teacher for Dunkirk Schools and then for Waterbury Public Schools in Connecticut. Rose went on to become a Sales Representative for Eastman Kodak Company based out of Chicago. Her outgoing personality and quick wit served her well while demonstrating Kodak copiers to customers. Rose enjoyed cooking, traveling, listening to music and was a gifted artist. Rose is survived by her brother Charles A. Ricotta of Dunkirk and many cousins. As a resident of the Gowanda Nursing Center, Rose was thankful for the care and kindness she received by staff and

volunteers. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 1:00 PM. Saturday, February 9, 2019 in

Holy Trinity Church, 1032 Central Avenue, Dunkirk. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Sheridan. If desired, memorials may be made to Chautauqua County Rural Ministry, 319 Washington Avenue, Dunkirk NY 14048. Arrangements are by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
