MAYVILLE — Shirley A. Stacey Sherman, 86, of Mayville, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2019 at Westfield Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 23, 1933 in Westfield, the daughter of the late Richard and Bessie Chapman Stacey.

Shirley had worked as a home healthcare aide for the VNA and had been employed by several businesses in the Mayville area.

She had been a member and past president of the Mayville VFW Post 8647 Auxiliary, a past president of the Chautauqua County VFW Auxiliary, a past member of the Mayville United Methodist Church, and a former boy scout den leader.

Shirley enjoyed sports, especially the Buffalo Bills, gardening, cribbage, sewing, reading, Bingo, bowling, and most of all, time with her family.

She is survived by four children; Duane L (Beverly) Sherman of Randolph, Dianna (Leonard) Crandall of Sherman, Devona (Timothy) Johnson of Pensacola, FL, and Linda (Randy) Little of Mayville, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, fourteen step great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and one sister; Frances (Ronald) Raynor of Mayville.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband; Duane L. Sherman, whom she married January 29, 1958 in Las Vegas, NV, her parents, a daughter; Debbie Curry, one brother; Richard Stacey, and one sister; Betty Lucariello.

The funeral will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville (139 S. Erie St). The Rev. Mark Parsons will officiate. Burial will be in the Mayville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-7PM on Monday, April 29, at the Funeral Home.
