Leocadia A. "Kay" Katulski

Leocadia A. “Kay” Katulski, 95, of Dunkirk, died Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born in Dunkirk, January 17, 1924, daughter of the late Valentine and Anna Glapa.

A retired employee of the former M. Wile Plant in Dunkirk, prior to that, she worked at the former Van Raalte Corporation and during WWII, Kay worked in Buffalo on B-29 Aircraft at Bell Aero Systems as a “Rosie the Riviter.”

Kay liked to cook and bake, watch her favorite soap operas, play cards, rummy and pinochle, in her younger days was a team bowler, a great seamstress at home, her greatest enjoyment was time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her memberships include Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish. Surviving are her daughters Karen (Michael) Tramuta of Dunkirk and Patricia Lamb of Buffalo, West Virginia, 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded in death in addition to her parents is her husband Frank Katulski and brothers Walter, Leo, Edward Glapa, sisters Mary Kubasik and Anna Balzer.

NO Prior visitation will be observed and Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10 AM in Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish Church of St. Hedwig. Interment will be in St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, 665 Elm St., Buffalo, NY 14203.
