Andrew (Andy) George Doedyns

Born January 31, 1934 in Dunkirk, NY to the late Andrew G. and Myrtle F. (Centner) Doedyns Jr.

Andy served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War 1953-1956. He graduated from Grove City College in 1960 with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering. He was a member of the Penn State Master Gardener program and enjoyed working in his gardens. He was an active member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge # 348.

Andy was extremely proud of his children, Andrew & Hopeann was amazed he survived the challenges of watching them grow into strong independent adults. He loved spend time and sharing all his knowledge and love of classical music with his grandson’s Andrew (Drew) and Aiden. Another Grandpa adventure!!

He was preceded in death by his wife of over 52 years, Joann A. (Cochell) Doedyns, who passed away less than 48 hours prior to his passing.

Andy is survived by his two children, Hopeann Doedyns of Louisville, KY and Andrew R. (Jill Maccaglia) Doedyns, grandsons Andrew E. and Aiden M. Doedyns of Beaver, PA; his brother (retired) Master Gunnery Sergeant Robert (Joyce) Doedyns of Kingsland, GA; sister-in-law Patricia (Ray) Kieffer of Portage Point, MI; several nieces and a nephew.

Friends will be received on Saturday, June 1, 2019, from 10 am until the time of the services at Noon in the Gabauer-Lutton Funeral Home – 117 Blackhawk Rd, Beaver Falls, PA 15010, www.gabauerfamilyfuneralhomes.com. Pastor Allen Brooks will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge # 348, 1000 6th Ave, Beaver Falls, PA 15010.
