Delos E. Jacques “Jake”

Jake was a 1964 graduate of Fredonia Central School and served his country in the U.S. Army from 1966 through 1968. Upon his return, he served as a patrolman with the Westfield Police Department from 1968 until 1971 and as a police supervisor with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department from 1971 until 1979. Jake retired from Niagara Mohawk as a mechanic in 1998.

Jake was a member of the John W. Dill American Legion Post 434 in Brocton and a past Master of the Lakeshore Masonic Lodge 851 in Dunkirk and a former member of the Portland Fire Department.

Jake was preceded in death by his foster parents, Fred and Eloise Town of Fredonia, NY.

He is survived by his three children, Laura (Ken) Goulding of Spokane, WA, Matthew (Renee) Jacques of Spotsylvania, VA and Justin (Jen) Jacques of Dunkirk, NY. Jake was a proud grandfather to Keith and Kevin Goulding, Nathan, Benjamin, Sarah and Travis Jacques, as well as, Tyler, Siera and Trevor Jacques.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, June 29th at 3pm at the Tri-Parish Church 35 East Main St, Brocton, NY. Reception to follow. A grave side memorial will be held at a later date, at the convenience of the family. Donations in lieu of flowers, can be made to Shriners Hospitals at lovetotherescue.org.
