Helen M. Nowak

ROCHESTER: Helen M. Nowak, 91, of Rochester, formerly of Brocton, died Friday, June 14th, 2019 at Highland Hospital, in Rochester. She was born in Buffalo, on April 10, 1928, the daughter of the late Peter and Helen Sypniewski.

Mrs. Nowak was a homemaker and devoted her life to raising her four children. She loved cooking and baking for holidays and special events, and was an excellent seamstress.

Mrs. Nowak was blessed with a beautiful voice and throughout her life, enjoyed singing and playing the organ. She especially loved playing cards with family and friends. Mrs. Nowak was also a lifelong contributor to the Veteran’s Administration and local charities.

Survivors include a son, John (Jan) Nowak, of Lyndonville; and a daughter, Lynette (Greg) Arnold, of Ontario, NY. Also surviving are six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by two sons, Thomas Nowak, and James Nowak, one sister Eleanor Widzinski and one brother Peter Sypniewski, Jr.

A Private Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, Silver Creek and interment was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
