Hobart L. Damico, Sr.

Hobart L. Damico, Sr., 84 years old, of Brocton, New York passed away on Saturday afternoon, August 10, 2019 at Hamot Medical Center in Erie Pa. after a brief illness. He was born in Sheridan, New York on August 11, 1934, the son of the late Dominic and Miriam (Parsons) Damico and has lived in this area his entire life. After attending Brocton Central School, Hobart enlisted with the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict, serving two tours. After his honorable discharge, he continued his service in the

Navy as a Reservist. After proudly serving his country, he was employed by the New York State Thruway and took part in the construction of it. Later, Hobart was employed by

Crescent Tool for thirteen years in Jamestown, New York. Lastly, he worked as a maintenance mechanic at the former Ferranti Packard of Dunkirk, New York. He was a life member of the VFW Post 8647 of Mayville, New York and a member of the American Legion John W Dill Post 434 of Brocton, New York.

Hobart is survived by two wonderful sons; Hobart L. (Cindy) Damico of Brocton, New York and Bruce (the late Melinda) Damico also of Brocton, New York, six grandchildren; Jennifer (Joseph) Dawson, Penny (Britt) Bridges, Thomas (Liz) Haynes, Katherine (Chris) Dulmus, Hannah Damico and Kimberly Damico, six cherished great-grandchildren; Sydney Daniels, Alex Daniels, Rhea Dulmus, Rylan Dulmus, Rielle Dulmus and Ronen Dulmus. He is further survived by his one brother, Theodore “Ted” Damico of California and one sister, Iva Dunn of Texas. In addition to his parents, Hobart was preceded in death by the love of his life, Fae (Barnes) Damico whom he married on September 28, 1957 and

who passed away on April 24, 2012.

Funeral Services will take place at 12 noon on Tuesday August 13, 2019 at the Morse Funeral Home, 51 Highland Ave, Brocton, New York with Pastor Hobart Damico Jr. of the

Liberty Baptist Church of Brocton, New York officiating. There will be visiting hours from 10 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services there. Interment will follow at the Portland Evergreen Cemetery, Portland, NY, where full military honors will be accorded.
