Hazel F. Dickinson

GOWANDA — Hazel F. Dickinson age 86 of Prospect St. Passed away Tuesday morning November 19, 2019 at the Gowanda Rehabilitation and Nursing Center surrounded by family.

Born July 6, 1933 in Cuba, NY the daughter of Henry and Mary (Lester) Balcom.

Hazel married Warren S. Dickinson at the First Presbyterian Church in Gowanda November 11, 1954, Warren passed away November 30, 2013.

A Registered Nurse, Hazel retired from the former JN Adam Developmental Center in Perrysburg after 34 years of service. Prior to her nursing at JN Adam Hazel work at the TB Hospital in Perrysburg which after closing was taken over by JN Adam.

Survivors include 3 daughters; Denise (Gary) Bowers of Oklahoma City, OK., Deb Dickinson of Gowanda, Doreen (David) Siminski of Springville, a son; Warren “Butch” (Mary) Dickinson of Otto, 9 grandchildren; Kenny, Steven, Dana, Kristen, Ryan, Andrew, Amanda, Matthew and Justin. Several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren also survive along with a brother; Henry (Shirley) Balcom of Lancaster, Pa, 2 sisters; Charlotte McCann of Angola and Mary Jo Noia of Gowanda. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Besides her parents and husband Warren, Hazel was preceded in death by a grand daughter Michele “Mickey” Wygant (June 23, 2012) and a brother Leigh Balcom.

A graveside service will be held Saturday November 23, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the East Hill Cemetery (Main St. Otto, NY).

If desired, memorials may be made to a local charity of ones choice.
