Clara M. “Kizzy” Donaldson, 73, of Dunkirk died Friday morning (June 12, 2020) at Buffalo General Hospital.

She was born July 20, 1946, in Smithville, Georgia, the daughter of the late Price and Martha (Marshall) Moreland.

A resident of the area for most of her life, Clara was a graduate of Dunkirk High School, Bryant & Stratton Business Institute in Buffalo and a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Dunkirk.

She was an employee of the City Clerk’s office in Dunkirk for 39 years, retiring on Jan. 30, 2010. Clara was best known for her vivacious personality, quick wit and sense of humor. She greeted everyone she assisted with a warm gracious smile. She had a way of knowing things before they even happened.

Survivors include one son, Scottie Donaldson of Dunkirk; one daughter, Kimberly Donaldson of Dunkirk; one brother, Jim Moreland; five sisters: Betty J. Waller, Mary L. (Curtis) William, Gayle Moreland, Dorothy D. Moreland and Helen (Mark) Stewart, all of Dunkirk; goddaughter, Shauna Moreland of Dunkirk; aunt, Lula Bell of Buffalo; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Willie Earl Moreland and Oliver Bay Moreland; and her sister, Ruby Dean Moreland.
