Armand St. Just De Lile

He was born March 11, 1924, the son of the late Lionel and Alice (Perera) De Lile. Armand was born in Sri Lanka and migrated to Canada with his wife in 2000 and lived in Montreal, Canada.

An Army veteran, Armand later worked as an immigration officer in Sri Lanka. He enjoyed reading, gardening, fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his daughter, Yolande (Steven D.) Peterson of Cassadaga; granddaughter, Elysia Peterson of Eagle River, Alaska; and sister, Gracie Henricus.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Flavia Bridget De Lile, who died in 2019; his daughter, Xylia Anne Peterson, in 2002; son, Fr. Egerton De Lile (1990); his brothers, Godfrey, Wayne, Thomas and his sisters, Rosemary and Mavis, all from Sri Lanka.

Visitation was at the Patterson Funeral Home, Niagara Falls, Canada. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Thomas More Church in Niagara Falls, Canada on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020. Father Daniel P. Walsh officiated the blessing at the Cassadaga Cemetery on Friday, Nov. 6, 2020 where Armand was buried. Arrangements were by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
