Marshall Lee McKillip

Marshall Lee McKillip, 82, of Ripley, NY passed away on Friday afternoon February 26, 2021 at the Westfield Memorial Hospital in Westfield, NY.

He was born in Erie, PA on September 28, 1938 the son of the late Merle (Wesley) and Edna (Bentley) McKillip. He married Juanita L. Rearick on July 12, 1957 at the Ripley United Methodist Church in Ripley, NY.

Marshall is survived by his spouse of 63 years, Juanita L. McKillip; a son, Mark (Deborah) McKillip of Ripley, NY; two daughters, Seneca (Tom) Dikeman of Mayville, NY and Melody (Tony) Lombardo of Lansing, NY; three grandchildren, Brent and Jena Wilkinson and Bailey Lombardo; three great grandchildren, Kaiden, Treyvon and Maliyah; a brother, Maurice McKillip of Westfield, NY; also survived by several nieces & nephews.

In addition to his parents Marshall was preceded in death by a brother, Donald McKillip.

Marshall was a longtime Ripley resident. He honorably served in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1961. He owned and operated a trucking business for ten years. Marshall worked for and retired from the Ripley Central School District in 2000 as a transportation supervisor with more than thirty years of service, holding many different positions during that period of time. He returned to truck driving hauling horses on the East Coast for Cobblestone Horse Transportation. He also ran a horse & cattle farm in Ripley since 1970.

Marshall loved bluegrass music and enjoyed a good rodeo having attended the Gerry Rodeo for 73 years. He also enjoyed basketball, especially a good Duke vs Syracuse game.

A Celebration of Marshall’s life will be held at future date to be announced by the family. Interment will be in the Mina Cemetery, Mina, NY.

The family suggest memorial contributions in Marshall’s memory be made to the save the horses.org or the Shriners Hospital in Erie, PA.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St. Westfield, NY.
