Esther S. Holland- Ackler-Horton 1940 to 2021

Esther S. Horton, 81, of Conewango Valley, unex-pectedly became a heavenly angel on Aug. 1, 2021, and went home to be with the Lord and beloved family members that predeceased her.

She was born Feb. 23, 1940, in Watertown, N.Y., to the late William and Violet Holland.

Esther was a volunteer at the Ellington Food pantry, a part of the Women’s Auxiliary of the United Methodist Church and the Ellington Fire Department.

She loved get togethers for brunch with the volunteers from the pantry. Esther also loved going to church, quilting, making jewelry, lawn sailing, and socializing with her two friends: Dawn and Sandy. Most of all she loved her friends and extensive family.

Esther is survived by her six children: Susann (Dennis) Caldwell of Jamestown, Robert E. Ackler Jr. of Conewango Valley, David (Cindy) Ackler of Cattaraugus, Clarissa Johnson of Pike, Benita (Ron) Barrus of North Carolina and Karen (Clark) Cowen of James-town; four stepchildren: Marie Sharrow, Robert Horton, Stanley Horton and Charlene; 31 grandchil-dren; 41 great-grandchil-dren; and nine plus great-great grandchildren.

Besides both her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Stanley L. Hor-ton; two daughters: Onalee Ackler and Jennifer Ackler; 13 siblings; two great- grandchildren; and a beloved friend, Sandy.

Relatives and friends may visit DiStasio Funeral Home Inc. , 478 Route 83 at Balcom Corners South Dayton on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2021, from 4-7 p.m.,, where a funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m.

Interment will be in Treat Memorial Cemetery Leon, N.Y.
