Michael A. Granata, 78 of Fredonia, died Aug. 15, 2021, at home with his family at his side after a lengthy illness. He was born in Dunkirk, June 1, 1943, to the son of the late Michael and Jeanette Granata.
Michael was a lifelong resident of Dunkirk/ Fredonia, graduating Fredonia High School in 1961. For the past 20 years, he has also been a part-time resident of The Villages, Fla.
Michael retired in 2002 as a personal financial advisor after previously holding a position as a local bank manager.
He loved spending time with his family, golfing, and traveling with his wife.
Michael’s memory lives on by the love of his life, Linda, whom he’s been married to for 56 years; his children; Shelley (Jim) Arcoraci, Brian (Gail) Granata and Kara (Jeremy) McAfee; and his six grandchildren: Nicholas, Lauren, Evan, Oliver, Lucas and Gage.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters: Nancy Coil and Janice Latona.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, Aug. 20, 2021, at 11 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church. There will be no prior visitation.
