Frances V. Wdowiasz

Frances V. Wdowiasz, 99, of Dunkirk, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021.

She was born in Utica, N.Y., on Oct. 21, 1921, daughter of the late, Mabel (Frazier) Lanski and John O. Lanski.

Frances was a retired from the Dunkirk Free Library where she had worked for many years.

Known for her beauty and grace, Franny was a huge Red Sox fan, loved the Buffalo Bills and an avid bowler in the 1970s.

Franny was a prominent figure at family gatherings, always supportive and kind, and you could always count on being greeted with a smile

Surviving are children son: Gerald Wdowiasz; daughter, Sharon (Dan) Snyder; 10 grandchildren: Lisa (Tony) Nasca, Renee (Steve) Buffa, Joey T. Wdowiasz, Tim (Kate) Wdowiasz, Kelly (Darren) Kazmierczak, Bill Wdowiasz, Jayme (Mark) Delcamp, Scott Snyder, Casey (Maggie) Snyder and Daniel (Kara) Snyder; 18 grandchildren: Carley (Alex) Jadrich, Samieele (Hannah) Buffa, Torrie Nasca, Claire Buffa, Gwen Kazmierczak, Valeri Nasca, Lydia Kazmierczak, Gracie Wdowiasz, Reed Kazmierczak, Ashlynn Delcamp, Anna Delcamp, Trevin Wdowiasz, Juliana Snyder, Beau Snyder, Blake Snyder, Elise Snyder; and daughter-in-law, Jean Wdowiasz.

Preceded in death in addition to her parents are sisters: Helen Reardon and Myrna Schuknecht; brothers: John and William Lanski; brother-in-law, William Lanski; brothers-in-law: Bill Reardon and Harry Schuknecht; sister-in-law, Evelyn Lanski; also grandaughter, Jody Wdowiasz; and son, Joey Allen Wdowiasz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m., in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
