James T. Simpson

He was a lifelong area resident who was born in Westfield, NY on March 22, 1935 the son of the late Harold L. and Linnie P. (Lehman) Simpson. He married June M. Cupa on Nov. 6, 1965 and she preceded him in death on July 24, 2012 after 47 years of marriage. Jim is survived by his daughter, Jeri (Jim) Summerville; two grandchildren, Kristen (Nick) McGill and Megan (Andrew) Anderson; three great-grandchildren, Olivia and Noah McGill and Theo Anderson; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Marjorie Scholton, Eva Ressler and Norma Swartzott and a brother, Richard Simpson.

Jim graduated from Westfield Academy and Central School in 1953. He worked for Renold Inc. in Westfield, NY as a design draftsman retiring in 1994 after 34 years of service.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025 at St James Cemetery East Main St. Westfield, NY.
