Councilman, clinic are a disruption

During a disruptive City Council meeting earlier this month, First Ward Councilman Donald Williams Jr. was attempting to make a comment when he was interrupted by Councilman Michael Civiletto from the Fourth Ward. When Williams still was attempting to talk, he was again interrupted by the Fourth Ward Councilman.

Evidently it had something to do with Mayor Wilfred Rosas’ agenda. The interruption continued. This councilman from the Fourth Ward was disruptive during this meeting and there was no call for it.

A discussion was also brought onto the floor in reference to a drug clinic that is being brought forth by a Buffalo organization. The mayor was asked where this clinic would be, in what location. He stated that it would not be in the business district, but a few months ago it was planned to be at the Third Street area. This is the business district, if you want to call it the business district.

We have no stores that were once thriving in that area. Now we have an area of free clinics and free doctors for those receiving assistance, but not for the taxpayers who pay for those free handouts.

Now the mayor and his cronies from Buffalo want another addition of drug individuals to come here from all over and all types of individuals for the treatment for something that they brought upon themselves. As residents of this city, we have to be tolerant of those individuals.

I say for myself — no way, not here. This city is not big enough for this clinic.

I am convinced that this mayor is cooperating with this Buffalo organization. I think it would be wise on his part to listen to the residents of this city instead of a gang from Buffalo. My suggestion to this organization is stay out of this city, period. If those drug addicts want care, then go live in Buffalo and stay out of this community.

We don’t need that problem here.
