Retrospective

Twenty years ago — 1990

A capacity crowd turned out to honor Albert Bulger of Cassadaga for the many contributions he has made to his community. Currently a councilman on the Stockton Town Board, Mr. Bulger served as the town’s supervisor and also held a seat on the Cassadaga Village Board. He also is a more than 50-year-plus member of the Cassadaga Community Church. Mr. Bulger was the recipient of a number of plaques and certificates.

Forty years ago — 1980

A group that favors the construction of additional public housing in Dunkirk plans to make its feelings known at several public meetings this week. According to Carol Adams, director of the Chautauqua County Rural Ministry, “People are using public forums to object to housing. We’re going to use comparable public forums to show our support (for public housing).”

Fifty years ago — 1970

Donna Sciarrino, 17-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Sciarrino, represents Brocton as this week’s Student of the Week.
