Thirty years ago — 1990

Michael Parks, a second-year law student at McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific, Sacramento, Calif., has been elected to the Board of Directors for the Pacific Law Journal. He will serve as associate articles director. Michael is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William “Bill” Parks of Tempe, Ariz., and the grandson of Mrs. John H. Barnes of West Fifth St., Dunkirk and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pokrzywka of South Roberts Road, Dunkirk.

Forty years ago — 1980

Student of the Week from Fredonia BOCES is KimberLee Cupp, 17, the daughter of Edwin and Blanche Cupp of West Sheridan Drive. A senior at Fredonia High and a member of the Area Occupational Education Advisory Council, she is the first student ever elected to this council. KimberLee is also a senior in the food services program at BOCES. Upon graduation, she plans to secure a position in the food service industry.

Fifty years ago — 1970

Mrs. Rose Leone Murphy, co-owner of Ricky’s Boutique at the D&F Plaza, is marking her 25th year in the fashion and business world.
