Thirty years ago — 1990

Miss Tricia L. Welch, daughter of David E. Welch and Patricia C. Welch (a 1969 graduate of Fredonia High School) of Ballwin, Mo., has been selected as a state finalist in the 1990 Miss Missouri U.S. Teen Pageant. A junior at Parkway West High School in Chesterfield, Mo., Tricia is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Colt of Fredonia.

Forty years ago — 1980

Cassadaga Valley Central School sophomore wrestling star Jim Beichner won the 148-pound title at the Section VI championships and was named the tourney’s Most Outstanding Wrestler. In this past weekend’s New York State Intersectional Tourney, he placed fifth.

Fifty years ago — 1970

Donald Keddie, 17, a senior at Silver Creek Central School, has been selected as Student of the Week. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Keddie of Sheridan.
