Two men are lucky to be alive after they were rescued from the choppy waters of Lake Erie on the afternoon of April 8. The two men, Ron Ellis of Forestville, the owner of the boat, and his companion, James Noody of Silver Creek, were rescued from sub-40 degree waters by three Warren, Pa., men after their 12-foot boat capsized around 12:45 p.m. According to Dunkirk Fire Chief Chuck Mancuso, if the Warren boaters had not been in the area, the two men would have drowned within 10 minutes.
