Salvation Army: Bells jingle for a worthy cause

It is a lofty goal for a giving institution.

According to a recent news report on WDOE, the Salvation Army is aiming to raise $43,000 for its Christmas campaign. Despite chilly and inclement weather, plenty of volunteers have been ringing bells and playing musical instruments to drum up donations.

But bad weather has hampered fund-raising efforts.

Starting today, warmer weather will arrive. That extra change or dollar would do well to help the Salvation Army make up about a $20,000 gap in its goal.

As of today, there is five days to Christmas. That means residents still have time to help out.
