Eight more athletes, and major community contributors, were inducted Monday at the 33rd Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame ceremonies in Lakewood.
Our congratulations to the honorees, who included: the late Jack Wigley, Vince Calarco, the late Tom Prechtl, Cindy Miller, Al Muck, Dan Lunetta, Tom Priester and the late Geza Farkas. Besides the honorees, some local athletes and teams also received accolades.
It was another packed house for the event, which made an impression on keynote speaker Sharon Robinson, daughter of baseball great Jackie Robinson. “I had no idea what I was coming to tonight,” she said. “What a special night.”
Indeed.
