Double standards for all to see
President Donald Trump has been accused frequently of two things: First, he isn’t a deep thinker, say some critics. Second, he has a persecution complex, they add.
Last weekend’s Tony Awards program was supposed to recognize achievements by those who stage Broadway shows. It turned into a rant against Trump.
“I’m gonna say one thing: F— Trump! It’s no longer ‘down with Trump,’ it’s f— Trump,” proclaimed actor Robert DeNiro when he took the microphone. DeNiro was cheered and received a standing ovation.
Well, wasn’t that an intellectual observation about the president?
