STATE OF STATE Cuomo’s message for cell phones

The OBSERVER's view

Can you hear me now? There’s a chance that in some rural areas of Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Erie counties the cell-phone reception still is not up to the 21st century standards.

During Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s State of the State speech, which is not always endeared in our neck of the woods, one of the priorities is for better cell-phone reception. Dunkirk Mayor Wilfred Rosas, who attended the event in Albany last week, sounded optimistic regarding the initiative.

“We do have areas in the city, in northern Chautauqua County that are not good areas for cell phones, so to have 100% cell phone service in the whole county I think will be awesome,” he said.

Very few will disagree with that sentiment.
