Health care in flux

During the "Economic Development in Northern Chautauqua: Perspectives and Possibilities" breakfast at Jamestown Community College's North County facility earlier this month, health care was a major topic.

Four hospitals currently operate in Chautauqua County, including Lake Shore in Irving, Brooks Memorial in Dunkirk, Westfield Memorial and WCA in Jamestown. All health-care institutions are facing great change in the nation as well as in our area.

County Executive Vince Horrigan spoke at the event in Dunkirk on May 20 about the industry's future and its importance to the region.
