" Paz said agents in Cincinnati openly talked about handling "tea party" cases, but she thought the term was merely shorthand for all applications from groups that were politically active — conservative and liberal." Anyone who believes this has to be dumber then a rock.

"WASHINGTON (AP) -- An Internal Revenue Service supervisor in Washington says she was personally involved in scrutinizing some of the earliest applications from tea party groups seeking tax-exempt status, including some requests that languished for more than a year without action.

Holly Paz, who until recently was a top deputy in the division that handles applications for tax-exempt status, told congressional investigators she reviewed 20 to 30 applications. Her assertion contradicts initial claims by the agency that a small group of agents working in an office in Cincinnati were solely responsible for mishandling the applications." Gee it wasn't just a handful in Ohio was it after all.

"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama does not believe the recently disclosed top-secret National Security Agency surveillance of phone records and Internet data has violated Americans' privacy rights, his chief of staff said on Sunday." When will the left learn how bad this guy is?

Recent press reports focused on the 157 visits to the White House by former IRS Commissioner Douglas H. Shulman, but there’s been little scrutiny of IRS Obamacare official Sarah Hall Ingram‘s 165 White House visits.

According to White House visitor data, Shulman never attended any of Ingram’s meetings, and Ingram never attended a White House meeting with Shulman.

All of Ingram’s 165 meetings were with White House staff, while only 151 of Shulman’s visits were with staff. Shulman attended six meetings with President Barack Obama.

but Obama had no clue as to waht was going on...right? Please for the country's sake libs, pull your collective heads out of the sand. This want to be emporer has no clothes.

"We the public are not as stupid as he thinks we are...are we?" More then likely should read "We the public are not as stupid as Obama thinks we are...are we?" And the answer is no we are not. Well some die hard democrats are.

Judeye-twisted,really? How can something get twisted when you sit in front of God and country and answer a simple question such as DID YOU OR WERE ANY OF YOUR STAFF AWARE THAT PEOPLE OR GROUPS WERE BEING SINGLED OUT FOR EXTRA SCRUTINY BECAUSE OF KEY WORDS SUCH AS PATRIOT,OR TEA PARTY,ETC? i realize you are a party loyalist but good lord why not answer a very simple question unless of course you wish to protect someone a bit higher on the totem pole.

joew...because many times things that you say get twisted. NO lawyer worth anything would ever let their client talk or give testimony without counsel present. That is why they all tell you if you are ever arrested (even when innocent) you are to shut up and not talk until your lawyer is present.

Judeye-in response if I may? If you tell the truth about what happened, what is it you have to fear? Why would you need to invoke protection using the 5th ???? I believe that some of the public are stupid and have been lead astray with false promises!

Nathan...apparently you do not understand law and criminal proceedings. When you are under a criminal investigation your lawyer will direct you not to answer ANY questions. Ask a lawyer they will confirm this. It is not a political stand..it is a legal one.

joew..if you call FACTS AND TRUTH damage control.

Rep Cummings in fact released more of the transcripts..not just the edited ones that Issa released. Including the transcript which clearly and definitively stated that the wh was NOT involved in any way.

Good grief..seriously do any of you really believe that the wh was involved in the day to day operations of one of the offices of the IRS? You think they have nothing better to do?

Why not release ALL of the transcripts? Well..let us see..if we actually all read what they actually said...Issa's witch hunt made up conspiracies just might fall completely apart. Kinda like they are now...

We the public are not as stupid as he thinks we are...are we?

Try looking at some facts. Look for various sources so you can see all sides of an issue.

Ok, so let's get this straight. Bush was responsible for everything and anything that happened during his 8 years in office, but Obama is not responsible for Benghzi, Secret Sevice getting hookers & blow in S. A., railroading two cops doing their jobs, IRS targeting (whose chief cisited the white house 150+ times in 2 years, judeye), anattorney general that pleads the fifth at every single turn, undying support of Monsanto and Koch Bros., mandated healthcare that will add $6 Trillion+ to the deficit, a GM bailout that lost $23 Billion, hookers and drugs in the State Department, utter lack of transparency, then yes, best president evar!!

She plead the fifth, obviously to protect the administration. Just imagine if they had done that back when Nixon was President. At least he acknowledged that the US and the world did not need to have a crock in the office. Obama is too much into his own deal to allow that to happen.

One more question Judeye,do you agree that the labor unions such as the AFL-CIO,SEIU,and the NAACP plus the biggest contributors,(dollars wise)the various teacher unions be stripped of their tax exempt status?

As a matter of fact I did read the letter. There is nothing there other than what you would expect when in damage control mode. I suggest we wait until the investigation into the scandal is complete. If Ms Lerner did nothing wrong and told the truth, how could she be charged. She is in my mind hiding something, there is no other reason for her not to testify and answer questions.

DC, It's obvious in 99.99% of your posts that you have trouble holding back your anger. You pontificate in an aggressive, know-it-all manner, barely able to keep your emotions in check. I would not be surprised if you were supposed to be on some sort of medicine to control it (and possibly your blood pressure). You are unable to have a dialogue with people who oppose your views in any fashion whatsoever. Rather, you get all vitriolic whether you're right or not, and I suspect you get more bitter when you're wrong as a defense mechanism. IANAD, but that's my $.02, and I think a doctor would agree.

The order did NOT come from DC. I asked for documentation from Steiner re his assertion that it did. He like Rep Issa is UNABLE TO DO SO...maybe cause it simply is untrue.

This type of profiling is wrong. However, to me, so is granting TAX EXEMPT status to groups that we all know are primarily political. Have you looked into any of the groups that were targeted?

Why are you not advocating to change the law ? Why are we giving tax exempt status to groups who conduct ANY political activities?

Ms Lerner HAD to take the fifth. They had threatened her with criminal charges. Gosh..you dont think her lawyer told her not to say anything?

How many of you have read the letter from Rep Cummings to Rep Issa dated June 9 2013? Wish I could post it here..at least the link to it..but try google

Issa reminds me of McCarthy. He does not seem to want to get to the truth or seek solutions to prevent this type of profiling to occur again. Rather he is on a witch hunt. Disgust

Will someone please please explain to Judeye that who was or was not granted tax exempt status has nothing to do with the scandal. It IS about the practice of subjecting groups to ridiculous scrutiny based on political beliefs.

Steiner, Judeye is right the order came from Washington. Guess who is in Washington, lets see you do not have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out. So give credit to Judeye she is totally aware that the IRS targeting was politcal.

There is no way any American will ever believe the IRS is on our side again. While I never minded paying my fair share, to see it has been wasted on spying on those paying the taxes is insane. My hope and vote is to abolish the IRS and go for the flat-tax on every item purchased. In this way everyone will be earning their keep as all Americans and our visitors adore shopping.

I have to say it really is a living lesson in history though. I always thought the country would go down fighting. Instead it's being flushed while the mental giants of the PC world cheer. Anyone with a little "big picture" view can see the cult of personality taking over for intelligence. Our so called leadership is working their way to absolute control and a large percentage of the population seems to be not only fine with it, but can't get in line to be stamped with the party blessing fast enough. Big smile! Zieg Heil! Big smile!

Steiner..."the order came from DC to target tea party groups."

Please back that up. Provide the documentation for making that comment. That is exactly the point..people making things up and acting like they are somehow the truth.

By the way..the ONLY group that was denied tax exempt status was a liberal group.

No I do not think profiling is ok....do you?
